This policy explains what information SnapTik at snaptikhd.org ("SnapTik", "we") handles when you use our TikTok video downloader and the rest of the site, and why. SnapTik is an independent tool. We are not part of TikTok or ByteDance.
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we never ask for your TikTok login.
- We don't store the videos you download.
- The link you paste is kept for up to two hours so your download can finish, then deleted.
- We keep basic server logs and a short-term record to stop abuse.
What we handle and why
Links you paste. When you press Download, our server reads the public post and prepares the download buttons. The link and the file addresses are stored in temporary files for up to two hours, so the buttons keep working, and then deleted.
Rate limiting. To stop abuse, we keep a one-way hashed version of your IP address with the times of your recent requests. It is used only to limit how many links one visitor can check in a short time.
Server logs. Like most websites, our web server records basic technical details such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, and they are deleted on a regular schedule.
Emails. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
What we don't do
- We don't store copies of videos, photos or sounds.
- We don't keep a history of what you download linked to you.
- We don't sell personal information.
- We don't ask for, or access, your TikTok account.
Cookies, analytics and ads
SnapTik doesn't need cookies to work. If we use analytics or show ads, those services (for example Google) may use cookies or similar technology to measure visits and show ads. See our cookie policy for details and choices.
Third parties
To prepare your download, our server connects to TikTok or Douyin. Your device then receives the file through our server. Those platforms' own privacy policies apply to their services.
Children
SnapTik is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you and to ask us to delete it. Because we don't run accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. Email [email protected] with any request.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
